Dear Members,
The fall months bring nature to rest—quite a contrast for our congregation. Many members experienced personal concerns and we have tried our best to help. The board met with the directors of the Social Welfare Office in an effort to clarify the situation. We felt that the meeting was friendly and constructive.
The congregation will continue to assist members to the extent it is able. State Board of Congregations President Mrs. Seidler continues to meet with state ministers on our behalf. Members who need assistance with paperwork and/or appointments should contact the office.

Todah Rabah . . . . . . Thank You
We wish to thank Mrs. Miriam Elberger, New York for her contribution to our synagogue building fund.
We wish to thank Mr. Dieter Klocke who presented our congregation with an Israeli flag. This is a very special flag. Mr. Klocke was visiting Auschwitz and noticed a youth group holding memorial services there. He approached them and in conversation found out that they were an Israeli youth group. He told them about our congregation and they asked that he carry the flag to us. The flag stands next to our Aron ha'Kodesh (Torah ark). We are deeply moved by this gift.
We wish to thank the members of our Board, especially, Polia Pelts, Aron Kaplan and Valerij Fridman for the endless hours of work involved, the patience and support in dealing with the social problems of our members.
Thank you to Rebekka Dohme who led two lectures on Judaism (a last minute substitute for her hospitalized mother!) at a local high school.
We thank Mr. Kieran Hilbert for his generous contribution of 10 percent of his monthly income during his five-year period of study in Vienna. Mr. Hilbert was a guest of our congregation on several occasions and is studying to become a priest. We wish him success in his studies and are grateful for act of kindness.
